Robert Åsbacka

Robert Åsbacka was born in 1961 in Terjärv, Finland, but now lives in Sweden. He made his debut in 1988 with the poetry collection Med tungorna hängande but his breakthrough came with Döbelns Gränd in 2000. Åsbacka has been shortlisted and awarded numerous prestigious awards, among them the Runeberg Prize (shortlisted 2005 and 2008), the Finlandia Prize (shortlisted 2006) and the Nordic Council’s prize for literature (shortlisted 2008).
