Robert Kviby was born in 1976 in Oxelösund, a small port town on the Swedish east coast. As a teenager, his plan was to become either a musician or an author, instead he worked as a software developer for a couple of years before going to law school in Uppsala. Robert dropped out after three semesters and returned to software development before entering a management trainee program for the media company Modern Times Group in 2003. He held various positions at MTG during the next nine years, the latest being CEO for MTG Radio. In 2012 he made his debut as a crime writer and full-filled his teenage dream of becoming an author. His debut, De korrupta/The Corrupt, is the first title in the series about Annie and Max Lander.
