Following the global success of the film March of the Penguins' – in the US alone it was seen by 12 million people – our interest in these odd and beautiful, flightless birds is greater than ever. The American publisher that bought Brutus Östling’s best-seeling book Mellan vingspetsarna/Between the Wing Tips, and has staked a lot on the title for the fall of 2006, also wanted a book on penguins for the same season. That gave the photographer and publisher three months to produce one. “Impossible, I thought and naturally answered yes,” said Brutus in a recent interview. No sooner said than done! Now it is set be released in Sweden too this fall.
