In a short time, Brutus Östling has become established as a nature photographer of international renown. His earlier books Life on the Wing (in America called Between the Wingtips) and Penguins have already been published in England and the USA, where he spells his name ‘Ostling’.
This time, Brutus Östling has chosen to visit the realm of the eagles, especially the sea or white-tailed eagle and the golden eagle, but we also get to meet other birds such as gulls, eider ducks, forest grouse etc – birds that are at home in the same biotope as these magnificent birds of prey.
Brutus Östling’s unmistakable and unique photos are interspersed with reflections around the eagle in nature, and in our consciousness through history. Staffan Söderblom, well known for his lyrical descriptions of nature, has written the texts – sometimes these are a comment on the pictures, sometime they widen the perspective and deepen the interpretation.
* Brutus Östling has previously been chosen as Photographer of the Year, and been given the Panda Book of the Year award
* Life on the Wing has sold 28,000 copies; Penguins 10,000 copies; The Kingdom of the Eagles 38,000 copies
