“There isn’t just one truth that is the only one applicable in the garden. A garden is perhaps the most personal creation there is. And that is what keeps the art of gardening alive, moves it forward.”
Garden Spaces has become a Swedish classic and successfully retained its special position among new books in the subject. Since it was first published almost ten years ago, the well-known garden designer Heidi Palmgren has created lots of beautiful gardens, and exciting new perennials have become available on the market. Besides, Christel has – she says herself – developed as a photographer so this revised edition contains a lot of new photographs.
Together, they show how you build up a garden with walls, a roof and floors. How plants can be used to create mood, and how you create a garden which will allow you to experience beauty all year round.
Christel and Heidi don’t always agree about things, for example in the chapter on summer flowers they have chosen to present their views separately. In this new edition, things get pretty heated when it comes to Aqualegias (Columbines)...
