For two decades, Claes Grundsten’s guides to the Swedish mountains have had a self-evident place in every fell-walker’s backpack. Now they are being published in a new form with many inspiring photographs and durable bindings, enlarged, revised and updated with the latest information.
There are four books in the series: In the Swedish fells – The King’s Trail; In the Swedish fells – Abisko Kebnekaise; In the Swedish fells – Sarek; In the Swedish fells – Padjelanta. All of them describe lots of possible trekking routes. The emphasis is upon the character and ease-of-use of the paths, as well as the views you see. Marked trails and other more-or-less distinct paths, are divided into the categories: easy, average and demanding. Distance, differences in altitude and approximate time needed, are indicated for each section of the route. Innumerable one-day walks are mapped out in just as much detail – ascents of peaks, places with botanical, ornithological and geological experiences, sights and cultural heritage. In short, these books are the ideal aid for you at home when you plan a long trek. Once up in the mountains, they are indispensible.
