The main author, Christel Kvant, is a journalist and she has written the sections on the garden room.
Inger Palmstierna, horticulturalist, has written the sections covering plant descriptions and advice on cultivation. They are jointly responsible for most of the photographs in the book. Both of them have previously published a large number of garden books and magazine articles.
Some of the most outstanding experts in Sweden have also contributed with text and pictures: Peter Gaunitz on aquatic plants and decorative grasses; Lars-Åke Gustavsson on roses; Ulf Nordfjell on plants for a harsh climate; Philippe Plöninge on vegetables. Scale drawings by Clara Lundqvist and illustrations by Gunnel Ginsburg.
