Thirty or so enervating walks in delightful countryside in southern France and Italy.
In France, we go on one-day walks along the pilgrims’ path to Compostela, on slopes in the green Auvergne and paths used by the knights going to the crusades across the limestone plateaus of the Cévennes mountains.
In Italy our walks take us past the blue anemones on the slopes of Liguria between the Alps and the Mediterranean, as well as to South Tyrol, Toscana, Umbria and the island of Sicily.
The walks are often within easy reach of airports where low-price flights land. Each walk is graded for difficulty, and we are given tips on food and drink, gardens, castles and manors, spas and lots more too.
