Stop going on slimming diets – once and for all. This method not only deals with what you eat, but also with emotions, self-esteem and your body’s accustomed dependence upon fast carbohydrates. With the help of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Low Carb High Fat foods you will learn to balance both your body’s hunger and the demands dictated by emotions.
The author takes you on a journey past ten stations where you can look at the image of your goal, learn how to differentiate between hunger and emotionally governed temptations, identify your ‘eater profile’, learn how to trick the temptations, use the STOP method, and much more besides.
The book is divided into two parts:
The first part is about your body. You will be given information about how a low-carb diet will help you to feel that you have eaten enough and feel safe and still lose weight. You will learn about what sugar addiction does to you, how the food you eat affects your hormones, and there are recipes and inspiration for more healthy cooking.
The second part is about your emotional life. With modern CBT methods, you will get help to examine you emotional relationship to food. In ten steps, you will learn to understand your eating habits and will be given the tools to change what it is that prevents you from achieving your ideal weight. By working actively with simple and enjoyable exercises, you will strengthen your self-esteem, be helped to set limits, and be guided towards finding a way of living that is both sustainable and enriching, where food is not a comforter, but a good friend.
