Following the recent London Book Fair, Walk Through the Water, Pass Through the Fire, Christian Unge's first book about emergency surgeon Tekla Berg, was sold to Christopher MacLehose at MacLehose Press in a pre-empt. MacLehose, who also acquired the world English rights for the next two books in the series, released the following statement: "I'm thrilled that we once again have a long-term commitment together with Norstedts Agency. It is my firm belief that readers worldwide will be as intrigued by Tekla as I am."
Rights have also been sold to Btb in Germany, Luitingh-Sijthoff in the Netherlands, Forlagid in Iceland, Wielka Litera in Poland and Albatros in the Czech Republic.
The highly anticipated Swedish edition was released a couple of days ago and Håkan Bravinger, Christian Unge's publisher here at Norstedts, describes the launch with the following words: "As a publisher I have rarely seen better conditions for a suspense series. Publishing doesn't get any more exciting than this."
