Nurse Diana Jonsson is not looking forward to leaving Tanzania to spend November and December in a dark Sweden. She does not want to re-experience the feeling of being a misfit and she definitely does not want to celebrate a traditional Christmas with all the expectations it entails. But she is unable to say no when her mother continuously begs her to come home and the temporary position at the ER will grant her an opportunity to make some much needed cash. After all, she just needs to get through the Christmas season before a new job awaits in Kenya.
But in Sweden, nothing turns out the way she planned. Her colleagues becomes close to her heart and when Diana finds out that the father she presumed was dead is not only alive, but also has a new family, she can’t resist looking up her half-sister.
Her only wish was a simple, hassle-free Christmas with her mother, but sometimes you get things you never asked for.
