Lena Sundström is an award-winning investigative journalist. She lives in Stockholm and has been named an honorary Doctor of Laws at Stockholm University. In 2009 and 2013, she was nominated for the August Prize. She has received the Swedish Publicist Club’s Grand Prize in 2009, the Golden Shovel Award in 2009, and the Torgny Segerstedt Freedom Prize in 2014. Since 2015, she has worked for SVT and previously for Dagens Nyheter, TV4, and Aftonbladet.

The Sanctuary is her debut in the suspense genre and the first book in a new crime series about the journalists Anne and Sven in Malmö. It is co-written with Jens Mikkelsen. Together, they have forty years of experience scrutinizing misconduct and abuses of power across all levels of society, both in Sweden and abroad.
