Tone Schunnesson (b. 1988) is a Swedish novelist, playwright, and cultural commentator, widely regarded as one of the most distinctive literary voices of her generation.

She made her literary breakthrough with her debut novel Tripprapporter, 2016, which received strong critical acclaim and was shortlisted for several major literary awards. Her second novel, Days, Days & Days  / Dagarna, dagarna, dagarna, 2020, became both a critical and commercial success and has since been translated into English, German, Danish and Finnish.

Alongside her fiction, Schunnesson has written for the stage and radio, including acclaimed adaptations of literary classics such as Jane Eyre. She is also a prominent public intellectual in Sweden, known for her essays and cultural commentary on politics, media, and contemporary life.

Since 2020, she has been a regular columnist for Aftonbladet’s Culture section, one of Sweden’s leading national newspapers. She also co-hosts the cultural podcast Café Bambino, a widely followed forum for discussions on art, power, money, and aesthetics.

Schunnesson is a frequent contributor to Swedish television and radio, and her work is characterised by its precision, emotional acuity, and unsentimental engagement with modern life,  marking her as a writer whose voice resonates well beyond Scandinavia.
