After only a few of weeks on release, Balsam Karam’s The Singularity, published jointly by Fitzcarraldo Editions (UK), Feminist Press (US), BookHug (CA) and Text (AU), has already attracted media attention with the Guardian describing it as “a beautiful and brilliant study of displacement” and The Spectator branding it “an intense gem of a novel with a sophisticated structure“.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the Atlantic, Hanna Johansson’s newly released Antiquity, published by Catapult Press, has already garnered a lot of early buzz with Vulture touting it as “a delicious slow-burn meditation on desire, envy, language, and memory” and Asymptote’s Sofija Popovska hailing it as “destined to be a classic, as multifaceted, revealing, and transformative as works by Dostoyevsky, Mann and Nabokov.”
